ChatGPT Slides

OpenAI’s release notes describe the flow: start from a conversation in ChatGPT Work, uploaded files or an outline, optionally give an example deck for style, then edit text, images, shapes and charts by hand or by asking. Teammates can edit the same deck at the same time and comment. A Slides deck uses the same access settings as the Space and pages around it, so it stays inside ChatGPT until someone exports it — useful for governance, a limitation if your company standard is PowerPoint files on SharePoint.

It is not on Free, Go or Plus. If you are on those plans, the ChatGPT for PowerPoint add-in is the route: it drafts and revises slides inside a PowerPoint file you already have.

Gamma

Gamma is still the specialist. Its Free plan gives 400 credits at sign-up and up to 10 slides per prompt; Plus removes Gamma branding and allows 100 slides per prompt with 1,000 monthly credits; Pro adds premium image models, custom branding, analytics, up to 10 custom domains and API access with 4,000 monthly credits; Ultra gives 20,000 credits. Credits roll over up to double the plan size. Pick it for sales decks, pitch decks and anything published as a link.

Claude

Since Claude’s chat and Cowork merged into one experience (September 2026), a single conversation can research, write and hand back a presentation as a finished, editable file. Best when the slides are the last step of an analysis. Details in Claude Docs & Slides vs Gemini Workspace vs 365 Copilot.

Microsoft 365 Copilot

The default inside Microsoft tenants: Copilot in PowerPoint builds decks from Word documents, email and files it can reach through Work IQ, under the organisation’s existing compliance rules.
