Bee Frontier vs Bee Eclipse vs Plaud: AI Recorders 2026
The short answer
Bee Frontier for cheap, everyday personal memory; Plaud Note Pro for work calls and meetings; Plaud NotePin S for in-person client conversations; wait for Bee Eclipse if you want a phone-attached Bee. Amazon launched the two new Bee devices on October 15, 2026, a year after buying the startup. The split is simple: Bee is a cheap device sold with a monthly subscription and tied into Alexa+ and Amazon.com; Plaud charges more for hardware and focuses on professional transcription. Prices are list USD as of October 16, 2026.

What you actually pay in year one
- Bee Frontier + Bee Pro: $74.99 + 11 paid months × $11.99 ≈ $207 (first month free).
- Bee Frontier, free features only: $74.99 — fine if 14-day memory is enough.
- Plaud NotePin S + Pro: $179 + $99.99 = $279.
- Plaud Note Pro + Unlimited bundle: $428.99.
How they differ
Bee is a personal assistant; Plaud is a work recorder. Bee turns conversations into to-dos, reminders and “daily memories”, surfaces products you mentioned on Amazon.com and answers “what did we agree?” through Alexa+. Plaud produces transcripts and structured summaries for meetings, interviews and sales calls, in 112 languages, with templates for each.
Privacy model. Amazon says Bee keeps no audio: it is processed in an isolated environment and deleted, and transcripts are encrypted with device-held keys. Plaud uploads recordings for cloud transcription. Both need a button press to record; neither listens continuously by default. Apple’s new Apple Watch recap features are free but always-listening once enabled — a different trade-off.
Calls. Only Bee Eclipse and Plaud Note Pro are built to capture phone calls directly. NotePin S is explicitly in-person only. Bee’s new desktop app (Bee Pro) and Plaud’s apps cover Zoom-style calls on a computer.
