Quick Answer

What Is Salesforce in Claude? 37 Sales Skills Explained

Published:

The short answer

Salesforce in Claude is a Salesforce-built plugin for Claude, in beta since September 15, 2026, that puts a seller’s accounts, opportunities and pipeline inside Claude with 37 prebuilt sales skills and two connectors (Salesforce and Slack). Claude reads under the seller’s existing Salesforce permissions and, by default, asks before writing anything back. It is the first “Claudeforce” experience from the Salesforce–Anthropic partnership announced August 26, 2026.

What it does

Anthropic’s launch framing is that account executives lose hours a day to meeting prep and follow-up, manually pulling information from Salesforce, email, call recordings and Slack. The plugin does that assembly and, once the seller approves, updates Salesforce. The documented workflows:

  • Morning brief — a scheduled, background-run summary of the day’s meetings, deals closing soon, at-risk opportunities and unread threads that need a reply, available in the Claude app. From the brief the seller can tell Claude to push a close date, change a stage or add a task, and Claude writes the update. It can also wrap the week and draft a manager update.
  • Call prep — pulls open opportunities and their status, what the account team discussed that week in Slack, unanswered threads, and open questions from previous calls. Stakeholders found in threads but missing from Salesforce get added as contacts.
  • Deal review — scores an opportunity against the team’s sales methodology (qualification gaps, unmet stakeholders, close-date risk), then drafts the business case and a dated mutual close plan, fills qualification fields and adds contact roles, all saved on approval.
  • Post-call follow-up — turns a transcript or notes into a follow-up email, a Slack deal-channel summary and drafted opportunity updates (next steps, stage, close date).
  • Pipeline review — builds an interactive dashboard with coverage by stage, deals most likely to slip and why, and drill-down by account; leaders can run the same views across the team, and Claude drafts the forecast narrative in the format leadership expects.

A setup skill runs on first use, identifies the seller’s tools and connectors, and creates a Claude Artifact tailored to their role and book of business.

The 37 skills

The Claude Help Center lists the skills as covering renewal prep, QBR decks, pipeline coverage, meeting follow-up, account research, call prep, pipeline review and CRM updates. Neither company has published all 37 names in one list; Salesforce’s public plugin repository on GitHub shows 32 skill folders (including call-prep and call-follow-up), so expect the count to shift as the beta evolves.

Permissions and data handling

  • Salesforce remains the system of record. Sellers sign in with their Salesforce credentials; Claude sees only what their permissions allow.
  • Approval by default. Claude proposes each change and waits for the seller to approve before writing.
  • Training. Anthropic says it does not train on customer data by default on Team and Enterprise plans.
  • Admin scope. A Claude admin connects Salesforce once per organization and picks which groups get the plugin; Salesforce admins request beta access via AgentExchange.

How it fits with Koa and Agentforce

The same day, Salesforce launched Koa, its own Nemotron-based CRM reasoning model, and AIforce, which opens Salesforce data, permissions and actions to outside AI tools. The split is: Koa handles well-specified agent workflows inside Agentforce; Salesforce in Claude is the conversational, seller-facing layer where Claude is the interface and Salesforce governs access. Claude also remains the default reasoning model for Agentforce Coworker and Slackbot.
