Quick Answer

Agentforce vs ServiceNow vs Dynamics 365 Field Service

Published:

The short answer

Choose the field service platform that sits on the system your work orders already come from. The AI agents are now similar enough that data gravity, not features, decides most deals. As of October 20, 2026:

  • Salesforce Field Service + Agentforce: best when customers, cases, quotes and contracts live in Salesforce. Highest list price per seat, the most flexible ways to buy AI.
  • ServiceNow Field Service Management: best when field jobs start as IT, asset, facilities or customer-service incidents already managed in ServiceNow. Quote only.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Field Service: best value for Microsoft shops and the lowest published price: $105 per user per month paid yearly.

The wider platform question (agents across sales, service and IT) is in Agent 365 vs Agentforce 360 vs ServiceNow. This page is only about field service.

Prices and AI side by side

Read from each vendor’s pricing page on October 20, 2026. All are list prices; enterprise discounts are common.

Worked example, 20 technicians and 3 dispatchers at list price: Dynamics 365 is 23 × $105 = $2,415 a month before RSO and Copilot Credits. Salesforce Dispatcher plus Technician is 23 × $175 = $4,025 a month, or $6,900 with the $125 Agentforce add-on on every seat. Get ServiceNow’s quote against the same headcount.

Where each one wins

Salesforce wins on customer context and AI buying options. A technician sees the whole account — cases, entitlements, quotes, contracts — and can quote and collect payment in the mobile app, offline. Agentforce can be bought per user (unmetered for employees), per action through Flex Credits, or per customer conversation, which suits companies that want a customer-facing booking agent and internal technician agents on one platform.

ServiceNow wins when field work is an IT or asset problem. Telecoms, utilities, facilities and enterprise IT teams that already run incidents, assets and change in ServiceNow can trigger maintenance from asset signals, dispatch automatically to the best-fit technician, crew or contractor, and keep one workflow from alert to closed work order. AI agents help with planning, staffing and on-site guidance.

Microsoft wins on price and the Microsoft stack. At $105 a seat it is the cheapest of the three on paper, includes Copilot in Field Service, and connects to Teams, Outlook and Business Central. Remote Assist and Guides access come with the licence in limited form. Budget separately for Resource Scheduling Optimization and the Copilot Credits that agents consume.

How to choose in four questions

  1. Where do work orders originate? CRM cases → Salesforce. IT, asset or facilities incidents → ServiceNow. ERP, Business Central or Dynamics Customer Service → Microsoft.
  2. How many contractors? Microsoft’s $50 contractor licence and Salesforce’s $32-per-login option change the maths if subcontractors outnumber employees.
  3. Do you need a customer-facing booking agent? Salesforce’s $2-per-conversation model is the only published per-conversation price of the three; for home-services phone booking, compare it with vertical tools such as Avoca and answering services.
  4. Who will run scheduling optimisation? All three can optimise; compare them on your own territory, skills and SLA data in a two-week trial rather than on demos.
