Quick Answer

AI Document Analysis Platforms for 1,000–10,000 Employees

Published:

The short answer

Use your cloud’s document AI for the 80% of documents that are standard, and add a specialist only for the hard 20%. For a company of 1,000 to 10,000 people, the deciding factors are not model accuracy — the leaders are close — but which cloud contract you already have, whether developers or business staff will build the workflows, and how many pages need structured extraction rather than plain text. Prices are list USD per 1,000 pages, read from vendor pages on October 16, 2026.

What it costs at mid-size volume

A company in this size band typically processes tens of thousands to a few hundred thousand pages a month (invoices, contracts, HR forms, claims). At 100,000 pages a month:

JobAzureGoogleTextractReducto
Plain text$150~$149 (1,000 free)$150$1,000 (parse)
Standard forms (invoices, receipts)$1,000 prebuilt$3,000 Form Parser$5,000 Forms / $1,500 Queries$2,000 Extract
Custom document types$3,000 custom$3,000$1,500 Queries$2,000 Extract

The spread is 3–30x depending on the job. Two rules follow: send only the pages that need extraction to an extraction endpoint, and model your own mix by document type before signing anything. Reducto’s $150 free allowance and 20% batch discount on Parse and Extract help with a pilot.

Platform notes

Azure Document Intelligence. The default for Microsoft shops: prebuilt invoice, receipt, ID, tax and contract models at $10 per 1,000 pages, custom extraction at $30, and connectors into Power Automate and SharePoint so non-developers can wire up approvals. Containers cover sites that cannot send documents to the cloud.

Google Document AI. Cheapest entry (first 1,000 OCR pages free each month) and strong layout parsing at $10 per 1,000 pages, which suits retrieval and search over contracts and policies. Best if your data already sits in Google Cloud.

AWS Textract. Priced per feature, so a page with tables and forms pays for both. Queries ($15 per 1,000 pages) are the economical way to pull a handful of fields from each page.

Reducto. Built for the documents the hyperscalers struggle with — dense tables, scans, mixed layouts — returning schema-based JSON with citations and bounding boxes. The Growth plan adds zero data retention, a HIPAA BAA, EU/AU residency and unlimited Studio seats; VPC and on-prem are Enterprise options.

ABBYY Vantage. A low-code intelligent document processing platform where business analysts assemble “skills”. Pricing is by quote. Choose it when the bottleneck is developer time, not per-page cost.

How to choose

  1. Which cloud do you already pay for? Start there; procurement, SSO and data residency are solved.
  2. What share of pages need fields, not text? If under 20%, the hyperscaler alone is enough.
  3. Are documents messy or audited? Add Reducto for those flows and keep citations for reviewers.
  4. Who maintains it? No spare developers means ABBYY or Power Automate on Azure.
